Pillar III: simul⁺model projects

simul+ is not a funding programme. But we provide limited financial support for selected, diverse projects with a model character. The simul+ model projects combine regional and innovation policy goals. They are primarily geared towards using and expanding the potential of their region. They are intended to increase the region's structural capacity for change, accelerate regional transformation processes and strengthen its future viability and competitiveness.

In the model projects, new research results and ideas are transferred into practice. They offers the possibility to test different applications. The experimental approach increases the probability to find the right solutions and their acceptance on the market and in society.

The projects support new solutions for selected problems on the one hand and complex real laboratories on the other. In the testbeds, regional actors develop innovative products, procedures, processes and business models into holistic solutions. We advance future topics by also supporting studies on the development of concrete innovation approaches in Saxon regions.

Individual projects are co-financed by simul+. These, but also so-called associated projects, which pursue promising approaches for Saxon regions, are part of the simul+ family.

The simul+ model projects should provide transferable findings for all Saxon regions. They are divided into two target categories: „Better Living onditions“and „Regional Value Creation“. The boundaries between the categories are not rigid: projects that address social challenges can also contribute to strengthening value creation and vice versa.
